Liverpool Waterfront
I was attending an Art Council Arts award get together meeting with the Arts Advisors for the northwest, hosted by Creative Minds at TATE Liverpool. This was to see new ideas and also for a ‘fact find’ for progressing to be advisor to Gold standard. The project I’m most looking to be involved with, is introducing kids with learning needs, to see the world through the protection of a camera lens, then progress to the world as we know it.
After this get-together I managed to steal a couple of hours to photograph the Liverpool Mersey water front. As I was born here and left at two and half years old (scouce refugee) I live now on the foothills of the Pennines on the east side Manchester. I was amazed how the water front has changed over the years. To visit is a ‘must’.
Parking is a breeze and you can get discount parking if you visit TATE Liverpool. You will see the padlocks on the chain. This reminds me of the Makartsteg Bridge in Salzburg Austria. Many memories are captured on these two locations. As we progress up the front to the Liver Building you can see how they have mixed the old with the new. If you look at the picture of the large window on the new Museum of Liverpool you can see the old Albert dock (well now not so old). This is my first of many trips to Liverpool. I want to capture the old housing which is fast being pulled down to make way for modern housing! (Is this good?), I just want to capture the old tight communities that used to exist before coming insular and MODERN.
